Mid 20th century Dixie Furniture set including chest of drawers with mirror and a matching end table. Versatile set that could work in several rooms and for many different purposes. An uncommon design from this company, with natural blonde tops and framing and gorgeous “woven” herringbone bamboo on facade of all drawers, cabinet and mirror frame. Drawers have gorgeous recessed metal handles for opening. What’s unusual about this design is that most of the Dixie herringbone design pieces also feature faux “bamboo” molding, or framing, which is also beautiful but is a very specific design theme which may be difficult to incorporate into your decor. This set, being from the late 60s/early 70s blends well with other mid century themes and decor while also looking very modern. These are just lovely and well made and very versatile both in purpose and style. I’ve only found one other piece matching these two online (a chest with no mirror) and it sold for $800 alone.
If you use any of the drawers for clothing or linen, you will be pleasantly surprised to discover that the drawers are made of cedar and smell wonderful. Its issues are commensurate with its age and normal use, minor scratches on tops and outline of some tape. Definitely not in need of refinishing unless you want it to be perfect. It’s priced according to its condition, which I would describe as “great”.
